Allah has made education compulsory for every Muslim boys and girls through the very first verse of the Holy Qur’an (Iqra – Read/Ponder).

Prophet Muhammed (Sal) too gave top priority to educate his fellow men and showed several avenues and adopted methodology to inculcate knowledge among him followers.

History of those ignorant desert arabs becoming rulers of the then half of the civilized world by defeating both Roman and Persian empires stands as a clear proof to the success of this straight path laid by Islam.

Muslims, on the long run, lost their prestigious position and have become an ignorant lot wherever they live because of the misunderstanding and misinterpretations of Islam and the infighting among various groups in political and religious arena that made them stagnant. Long years have passed and their slumber prevents them from awakening to see the light.

Islam is a vibrant and flexible religion which created world class political leaders, administrators, scientists, mathematicians, poets, doctors, architects and what not.We the Sri Lankan Muslim community, too suffer from this backwardness in education. Our fore fathers have tried in many ways to lift our society out of darkness and have succeeded to a certain extent in educating the society. But, still we are far behind the satisfaction level. Several organizations are working towards this goal.

We on our part started our Mount Hira International School to provide knowledge to the students of Panadura area whose parents are willing to see their children studying in English medium. Though there are a number of English medium schools functioning in this area, we are different. We designed our curriculum in such a way to impart Islamic knowledge and values rather than grooming the children in English culture. Our Students should understand Islam in the right perspective and follow it in all walks of life-that was our aim.

Our vision was to build-up an English speaking community soaked in Islamic values which can lead the Muslim society and be an exemplary lot to the country as well.Our mission is to run an International Islamic Schools for boys and girls separately to impart quality education and Islamic values to students and to produce qualified and experienced teachers to serve our future generation.

May Almighty Allah help us in our endeavors as he has done right from the start and accept our striving as Ibadah and reward us in both the worlds. Wassallam.
